The Latest: Top Democrat says Barr is trying to spin report

WASHINGTON (AP) — The most recent information on Donald Trump’s campaign and the special counsel’s findings on Russian election meddling (all times local).

The Special Counsel’s Report on Russian Election Interference:

8:40 p.m.

The attorney general is “taking unprecedented steps to spin” the special counsel’s Russia investigation, according to the chairman of the House Judiciary Committee.

Attorney General William Barr “appears to be waging a media campaign” on behalf of President Donald Trump, according to New York Democrat Representative Jerold Nadler on Wednesday.

He cites the attorney general’s choice to host a press conference on Thursday morning. Before providing Congress with a redacted copy of Robert Mueller’s report. He is going to “again result in the report being presented through his own words.”

If the report is significantly redacted, he cautions. Subpoenas will thereafter be issued “in short order” by the committee.

Nadler claims he will “probably find it useful” to give Mueller a call. After reading the version of the report Barr publishes, his team members will testify.

The Justice Department Plan:

8:20 p.m.

A redacted report on the special counsel’s Russia inquiry will be made public by the Justice Department. William Barr, the Attorney General, thus desired to make the report public one or two hours following a press conference on Thursday morning.

Democrats are becoming enraged over that. Before the public gets an opportunity to see the report, they have expressed worry that Barr may attempt to manipulate the results.

The timing of Barr’s discussion of the redacted report and its release to Congress, according to New York Democrat Jerrold Nadler, the chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, is “wrong.”

“The process is poisoned before the report is even released,” according to Senate Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer.

Barr has “thrown out his credibility & the DOJ’s independence with his single-minded effort to protect” Trump, according to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.

The chairman of the House Judiciary Committee’s Statement:

6:45 p.m.

The House Judiciary Committee chairman claims that receiving a censored copy of special counsel Robert Mueller’s report is “wrong.” especially following Attorney General William Barr’s Thursday press appearance.

The Justice Department has notified his panel that it will receive the report at about 11 a.m. or noon, according to a tweet from New York Representative Jerold Nadler. a few hours following Barr’s news appearance at 9:30 a.m.

Democrats have expressed fear that Barr may attempt to sway Mueller’s conclusions before the public gets an opportunity to review the report.

Regarding Barr, New York Representative Hakeem Jeffries, the head of the Democratic caucus, tweeted, “Release the Mueller report tomorrow morning and keep your mouth shut.”

President Donald Trump’s Statement:

5:10 p.m.

Following the publication of the redacted version of special counsel Robert Mueller’s report on Thursday, President Donald Trump has stated that he may call a news conference.

In an interview with conservative radio host Larry O’Connor, Trump expressed confidence in the conclusions of Mueller’s investigation into Russia. “You’ll see a lot of very strong things come out tomorrow,” he says.

The report is scheduled to be released on Thursday morning, and Attorney General William Barr will have a press conference. “Maybe I’ll do one after that, we’ll see,” Trump remarks.

The Statement of The Justice Department:

The Justice Department announces that Attorney General William Barr will conduct a news briefing on Thursday morning. Further, this press conference concerned special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation into Russia.

The press conference is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. at the Justice Department in Washington. Therefore, Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein will accompany Barr.

The Justice Department announced that a blacked-out version of Mueller’s report will be published on Thursday.

Mueller officially wrapped up his investigation at the end of last month and handed a nearly 400-page report to Barr.

Robert Mueller’s Findings:

2:50 p.m.

Following almost two years of anticipation, America will finally receive answers directly from Robert Mueller.

On Thursday, the Justice Department is anticipated to publish a redacted version of the special counsel’s report regarding Russian election meddling and Donald Trump’s campaign. If not years, sparking months of disputes regarding the document’s interpretation in a highly divided nation.

The almost 400-page document is anticipated to disclose what Mueller found regarding connections between the Trump campaign and Russia. Additionally, this report did not determine any criminal behaviour. It will also detail the special counsel’s findings regarding key events in Trump’s presidency. This also encompasses his dismissal of FBI Director James Comey and his attempts to publicly and privately weaken the Russia investigation.

The Bottom Line:

Some US officials said Russia consistently meddled in the 2016 election. But the inquiry did not determine that individuals from the Trump campaign colluded in a conspiracy. Alternatively, they worked in collaboration with the Russian government during those hacks. Or their attempts at misinformation, despite several connections and offers of help.

The inquiry did not clear the president of wrongdoing. Mueller did not follow a conventional prosecutorial approach to either charge or exonerate Trump. This occurred because the Office of Legal Counsel (OLC) policy prohibits charging a sitting president. Rather, the report clearly presented the proof for 10 distinct instances of possible obstruction. This allowed Congress to maintain the details for future responsibility.

First and foremost a moisturizer, this lightweight formula hydrates combination skin amazingly well and offers sheer coverage. Seven versatile shades blend well with most skin tones. Applying over primer helps smooth and extend its already long wear. One tube yields a fair amount, though it won't last long with daily use. SPF 20, though a big bonus, could be higher. Those wanting medium- to full-coverage may be disappointed.
